Sharing with you the latest newsletter from APPCityLife, because it’s full of fantastic news:
It’s been busy around APPCityLife, and we’re so excited to share all the latest news with you! Some of the news we’re sharing in this newsletter:
We were recently selected from numerous candidates to present at TVC’s Deal Stream Summit – the only woman-owned company chosen! It was a fantastic experience, and we’ve gained a lot of experience from the mentoring team at TVC.
We’ve grown! Our acquisition of Onqueue Technologies has been successfully completed, and we’re pleased to welcome some massively talented engineers to our team.
We’re expanding! We’re harnessing the power of Open Data to grow to 34 cities this year – and bringing some sweet products to those cities and our current clients, including geo-located coupons, civic challenges, and civic apps.
We’ve moved! A growing team meant the need for new digs, and we’re loving our new space in the hip, LEED-certified Hope Plaza in Northeast Albuquerque. You can find us at 8650 Alameda Blvd., NE Suite 102E, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87122. Our mailing address remains the same: PO Box 93242, Albuquerque, NM 87199.
We’d like to introduce our newest team members here at APPCityLife who come to us from their own venture-backed startup, OnQueue Technologies.
Scott Walker, who has previously co-founded two other successful tech firms, thrives on the bleeding edge of the rapid changes in mobile and is heading up our mobile innovations as our CTO Mobile. Many of you will celebrate to find out he’s moving quickly to integrate our platform to support Android.
Jim Stout serves as our Chairman of the Board. Jim has an illustrious career, having served as Chief Counsel for the Department of Energy and President of The Stout Group, where he served as a national security consultant to the Los Alamos, Sandia and Livermore National Laboratories and a wide variety of government and private sector clients. We are pleased to be able to benefit from his extensive knowledge and business acuity.
Lawrence Abeyta comes to APPCityLife as our COO. Having co-founded companies with Bryan and Scott, Lawrence is passionate about creating seamless user experiences and divides his time between many hats. Not only does he interface on technical issues with our clients, he also designs front end technologies and assists with sales and consulting.
Bryan Bingham, also a veteran to the startup world, excels at architecting elegant solutions for our cloud technologies. A talented musician, Bryan lights up when talking about his newest musical instrument. We look forward to a few impromptu concerts around the office.
APPCityLife Founder and CEO, Lisa Abeyta, presenting to a crowd of around 300 investors and partners at the recent Deal Stream Summit held at the Hyatt Tamaya in Bernalillo, New Mexico. The ten minute presentation included APPCityLife’s new focus on harnessing the power of Open Data in the Civic Space to bring powerful mobile apps to cities and the people who live there. The presentation also provided a sneak peek at the geolocated coupons generated by local businesses to be available in the civic apps the company develops.
What’s APPening® in CityLife Apps
We’re busy putting together some sweet features in the upcoming app featuring public art in Albuquerque. This app will launch our gamification feature, bringing interactive fun to viewing public art. Get ready for scavenger hunts and other challenges that could score you some very sweet prizes. Oh, and the coolest part will be the interactive map that will let you learn all about the art around you.
Other Projects include a medical app focused on pregnancy care that is getting ready to go into beta trials in several clinics across the state of New Mexico, an enterprise app for Bendix King, several upgrades to our ABQ BioPark app including a geolocated map of the zoo, as well as several others.
After spending time working through some innovative changes, we’re almost ready to launch the long-anticipated Rail Runner app. And the wait will be worth it – the app will be one of our flagship apps to feature geolocated coupons. What does that mean to you? If you’re a passenger, that means you can find out just what kinds of specials are being offered right around you as your exit the train. And if you’re a small business, it means you’re going to have the chance to target your ideal customer – the one who is passing right by your business. We’ll announce how to get started once we have our tool ready to launch.
